Captain N Wiki

Duke is a character in Captain N: The Game Master.

Duke is a character in the separate cartoon and comic book continuities of Captain N: The Game Master. The two versions of the character share a lot of personality traits and some backstory.

Duke is Kevin Keene's dog from Earth and followed Kevin to Videoland. He is a member of the N Team and lives in the Palace of Power while in Videoland. He is voiced by Tomm Wright.

Duke is Kevin Keene's pet dog from Earth. Oddly enough, when Duke is shown in the live action scene in the first episode/intro, he is shown to be a Labrador Retriever, while in the cartoon/comic, he is shown as a pit bull.

He's a very loyal canine friend to Kevin. Duke is shown to be protective not only to Kevin, but to his fellow N Team members. However, Duke is not very brave when it comes to some adventures. Sometimes, he can lead Kevin or the N Team into trouble. One true moment of his bravery is shown in "Germ Wars," where he and Gameboy adventured to Faxanadu to retrieve the elixir.

He liked to hold Kevin's grey Zapper (the NES accessory) in his mouth.

  • Intelligence: Duke is apparently sentient and can understand English.
  • Enhanced Sense of Smell: As every dog, Duke has up to 700 times the smell sense of a human.

Relationships with Other Characters[]

Kevin Keene[]

Duke holding onto Kevin's grey Zapper in his mouth amused Kevin. ("Kevin in Videoland")

When Kevin was pulled into Videoland, Duke loyally followed him. ("Kevin in Videoland")

Princess Lana[]

Duke seemingly wanted Lana to acknowledge his contribution and barked at her for it, so she did and petted him. ("Kevin in Videoland")

Duke and Gameboy seem to have a close bond with each other. In the episode titled "Gameboy," Duke stayed by the computer boy's side when his batteries were removed. Duke and Gameboy both ventured to Faxanadu together.

Simon Belmont[]

Despite the fact that Simon seems to loathe him, Duke seems to like to lick the vampire hunter's face at times. Duke sometimes will quarrel with Simon, just to annoy him.
